GenoCare pairs expert genetic counselling with mental health support—bridging the gap between testing and supportive care.
Our story
GenoCare was founded by Associate Professor Alison Archibald, a respected genetic counsellor, researcher, and clinical leader with over two decades of experience in reproductive genetics and psychosocial support.
Ali consistently saw a gap in the system: while access to genetic testing was rapidly expanding, patients and families were left without the clarity, information, or support they needed. GenoCare was created to change that.
Our goal is simple: create scalable support so everyone can access responsible genetic care. Through counselling that combines empathy with expert information, we help you gain clarity about what your results mean, understand your options, and feel confident in your decisions. We believe that with the right support, complex genetic information becomes a tool for empowerment rather than confusion.
“At GenoCare, we turn complex genetics into inclusive care, putting people and their families at the centre.”

Emma Snelgar
Credentialed Mental Health Nurse
I’m a Credentialed Mental Health Nurse and former midwife with a deep commitment to supporting people through the emotional transition to parenthood. I’m passionate about making mental health care feel safe, compassionate and accessible. This is especially important during pregnancy and the postnatal period, when anxiety, low mood or adjustment challenges can feel overwhelming. I draw on evidence-based approaches like EMDR and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) to provide trauma-informed care, helping people feel seen, supported and empowered during one of life’s most significant changes.
